Wayland-Cohocton Cuts Ribbon on Renovated Pool
District students and families eagerly dive into school's cool new waters.
Wayland-Cohocton school officials, students and families cut the ribbon on a newly renovated swimming pool this week. "The school and community are excited about having this much-used facility open again for use and enjoyment," says Superintendent Michael J. Wetherbee. "Wayland-Cohocton's pool facility has always been a busy and vibrant place and we are excited to share the new facility with the community."
Renovations to the pool will enhance swim competitions with an added sixth lane and a depth increase from 8'6" to 12'6" at the pool's deep end. Technology improvements, including timing system upgrades, a wall-mounted dive camera, and an underwater stroke camera, will enable swimmers and divers to review their moves and hone their competition skills. Additional seating capacity and handicap accessibility improvements allow for more spectators, and locker room renovations offer new comforts to students, visiting teams, and Family Swim participants.
Campus CMG is Construction Manager for the project, and Tetra Tech Architects & Engineers is the project architect. "We are thankful for all of the work that went into designing such a beautiful facility and are most excited to be welcoming our community back to its waters," Wetherbee adds.
