Area School Districts Wrap Up Major Renovations in Time for New School Year

Pittsford, New York (August 31, 2010) – Students and teachers in a number of Rochester area school districts are beginning the new school year with some highly anticipated upgrades to their facilities, with help from Campus Construction Management Group, a local firm that was recently recognized as one of the Top 100 construction management firms in the nation.

Districts within Monroe County making the final push to complete renovations include Hilton, Penfield, Spencerport, and Webster. This is good news for returning teachers and students who have been looking forward to a fresh atmosphere in safer and more modernized facilities. Campus Construction Management Group Inc. (Campus CMG), construction manager for all four districts, kicked the projects into high gear this summer to ensure that the schools will open on schedule. The local employee-owned firm specializes in providing construction management services to K-12 school districts, and was recently ranked by Engineering News Record magazine as one of the nation’s “Top 100” construction management firms.

Hilton Central School District is finishing up renovations to its Family and Careers rooms at Merton Williams Middle School, vinyl asbestos tile abatement in various classrooms, and a generator upgrade at Northwood Elementary School. Penfield Central School District is near the end of its $73 million renovations project, completing the remaining science room and kitchen renovations. Spencerport Central School District underwent $2.4 million in renovations this summer, and Webster Central School District is undergoing auditorium renovations and installation of new turf fields.

Campus CMG has been busy putting the final touches on school renovations for districts outside of Monroe County as well. In Steuben County, renovations are underway at Addison and Avoca Central Districts, while next door in Allegany County, Wellsville Central School District is getting ready to put its new track and field to the test. Pembroke Central School District in Genesee County is wrapping up a $28.4 million project that includes a new library media center. Further east, Campus CMG is also readying Oswego City School District’s $48.2 million renovations project for opening day, as well as Phoenix Central School District’s $9.4 million EXCEL renovations project.
